The Automatic Door Suppliers Association (ADSA) has raised £9,000 for charities following its annual golf day at Branston Golf & Country Club, bringing together companies and professionals from across the automatic door industry for a day of competition, networking and fundraising.
Held on 24 September, the event attracted 163 golfers and networking guests, with a further 180 people attending the gala dinner in the evening. The day has become a key fixture in the industry calendar, combining friendly competition with an opportunity to support charitable causes chosen by participants.

A total of 29 teams took part in the tournament, competing for the prestigious ADSA Cup. This year’s winners were Farrells Fabrication Ltd, trading as Copper Jax, from Middlesbrough. As champions, the team nominated The Shine Bright Charity to receive a donation. The charity supports research into triple negative breast cancer, an aggressive form of the disease that can be more difficult to treat than other breast cancer types.
Members of the winning team received the ADSA Cup along with individual glass trophies in recognition of their achievement. Finishing in second place was dormakaba UK, while Label UK Automatic Door Solutions Limited secured third place after a closely contested competition.
The fundraising total will be distributed among several charities. Alongside The Shine Bright Charity, donations will be made to Band of Builders, a charity supporting members of the construction industry and their families through practical projects and wellbeing assistance. Midlands Air Ambulance will also benefit from the event, helping to support the lifesaving emergency service it provides across the region.
Another recipient will be Kids Village Staffordshire, a charity selected by the team that finished last in the tournament. Kids Village is working to create the UK’s first holiday village dedicated to critically ill children and their families, offering them opportunities to enjoy respite breaks and make lasting memories together.
As well as the golf competition itself, a variety of fundraising activities took place throughout the day. Businesses from across the sector sponsored golf holes, golf balls and tees, helping to boost the total raised. Participants also took part in a putting green challenge sponsored by CEUPP, while a raffle featuring prizes donated by a range of companies and sole traders generated £4,000 alone.
To ensure there was something for everyone, ADSA also introduced additional activities for non-golfers. Guests who were not competing in the tournament had the chance to try their hand at an adventure mini golf course or spend time networking and relaxing in the clubhouse before joining players for the evening celebrations.
Ken Price, ADSA Managing Director, praised the enthusiasm shown by those involved and highlighted the importance of the event in bringing the sector together.
“Our golf day brings people from across the industry together to enjoy some friendly competition and support causes that matter to them,” he said.
“Congratulations to our winners and everyone who took part.
“We’re grateful to our sponsors and to everyone who bought raffle tickets or contributed to the fundraising. Their generosity will help these charities continue their important work.”
The success of the event was supported by a wide range of sponsors from across the automatic door industry. Course sponsors included Strand Automatics, Auto Door Trader, Automagic Door Parts, record UK, Ascot Doors Service, dormakaba UK, Insight Automation, OPTEX, Dortek, All Entrance Solutions, Five Star Door Systems, andwis entrances, FAAC Entrance Solutions, RTR Services, Axis Entrance Systems Ltd, ION Group Ltd, Label UK Automatic Door Solutions, All Round Security Consultants Ltd and BEA Sensors Europe.
Additional support came from Door System Installations (DSI) Ltd, which sponsored the golf balls, while All Round Security Consultants sponsored the tees and pencils used throughout the day.
The annual ADSA golf day continues to grow in popularity, providing companies across the sector with a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships outside the workplace while raising vital funds for worthy causes. This year’s £9,000 total demonstrates the industry’s ongoing commitment to supporting charities and community initiatives, ensuring the event delivers benefits far beyond the fairways.
