Roger Bullivant Limited has announced its partnership with Persimmon Homes East Scotland in a multi-phase housing development at Pirnhall Road, Bannockburn, Stirling. The use of the innovative RBeam foundation system, which is compatible with any pile type, guarantees the project’s adaptability to various ground conditions, underscoring RBL’s dedication to flexible and dependable construction solutions.
The development will include building 104 houses and two apartment blocks, with the initial phase comprising 19 detached and semi-detached houses. The entire project will use around 840 piles, with the first phase employing a mix of 140mm Driven Steel Tubular Piles and 200mm Driven Precast Concrete Piles.
The selection of steel and precast piles is informed by the unique geological features of the site. The presence of shallow rock on certain plots, at depths less than 3m, requires the use of steel piles for effective penetration into the rock layers. Precast piles are employed in areas where deeper insertion into the made ground, which sits atop soft to firm gravelly clay, is necessary. This approach guarantees the foundation system’s maximum stability and efficiency under diverse soil conditions.
The precast RBeam system is uniquely capable of pairing with any pile type, making it an ideal choice for the varied ground conditions at the development site. The initial phase involves installing over 880 linear metres of RBeam, which is part of the 3,200 linear metres planned for the entire site. Completed in just eight weeks, this first phase demonstrates our efficiency and expertise in foundation engineering.
