VolkerRail has secured its inaugural major contract for Scotland’s Railway. The company, known for its regular projects on the network in England and Wales, is set to undertake signalling, power, and communications work valued at up to £150m.
The Scotland Civils Framework (SCF) represents a new agreement between Network Rail and contractors, aiming to deliver work valued at up to £1.3bn. This encompasses buildings, civil engineering, structures, earthworks, drainage, and projects for renewals and enhancements nationwide.
Network Rail has also awarded Lots to the following contractors:
- Lot A – minor civils up to £150m to Taziker Industrial;
- Lot B – buildings and civils up to £730m to AmcoGiffen and STORY;
- Lot C – geotechnical and minor civils up to £420m to QTS.
Each contract is for a duration of five years, with the option to extend for an additional three years contingent upon performance.
