A civil engineering subcontractor in Yorkshire is projected to achieve a turnover of £60m, following the acquisition of significant heavy civil contracts and the establishment of a new office in the North-West.
Since switching to an Employee Ownership Trust model in 2021, the Cidon Group has increased its turnover following the successful delivery of some huge projects, including £58m worth of large energy for waste facilities in the Midlands, North-West and Scotland.
The firm based in South Yorkshire has expanded its operations into the North-West by establishing an office in Skelmersdale, Lancashire. Darren Hynes has taken on the role of regional director, overseeing the company’s growth in the area.
“We’re thrilled to get going in the North West and enhance Cidon’s reputation in this part of the country,” said Darren. “The potential is huge and I’m sure when companies see what we have achieved in the Midlands and in other regions in the UK, our established presence in the North West will go from strength to strength.”
Cidon has been selected as a strategic supply partner for the KDP8 framework, working alongside Key Delivery Partner Sir Robert McAlpine within the Sellafield PPP model. This collaboration is anticipated to yield a steady revenue stream for the foreseeable future and will expose the business to a new industry sector.
Group Managing Director, Stephen Simpson, added: “We are confident that in this financial year our continued growth will take our turnover above £60m, which is testament to the hard work of all of our teams.
“We have some incredible people working for Cidon and our experience and technical ability is proven, particularly in the energy and Heavy Civils Sector.”
