Utility products specialists Centriforce have made a significant investment in new state-of-the-art production and test facilities for its Locata® range of detectable underground warning mesh. The launch completes a two-year programme that has given Centriforce the most comprehensive in-house manufacturing and quality control facilities for utility warning and protection products in the UK.
The new production line at the company’s Liverpool manufacturing centre is capable of producing fully EN12613-compliant mesh. It comes hard on the heels of the company’s 2015 investment in a blown film line for its utility warning tapes.
With its production expansion plans completed, Centriforce offers a comprehensive suite of fully-customisable tapes, mesh and cable protection boards to warn of the presence of underground services for water, gas, electricity and telecommunications.

Now we can produce the full range of plastic products, from visual warning films and tapes, through detectable mesh to our well-established Tapetile and Stokbord® cable covers. Centriforce has installed a purpose-built “trench test” Quality Assurance facility to meet the stringent EN12613 standard for warning tapes and mesh. The full production capability also includes new lamination and tape perforation facilities to make detectable grades of both tape and mesh.
Centriforce’s Tapetile®, Locata® underground warning tape, Locata® underground warning mesh and Stokbord® cable covers are available custom-made to order with size, colour, text and logos to meet customers’ specific requirements, as well as being available from stock with standard warning texts.
