Merlo UK gains full attachment visibility with ABAX Worksite

Merlo UK, a leading manufacturer of telescopic handlers for the construction and agricultural sectors, has strengthened its machinery tracking and asset visibility strategy with ABAX’s tracking solutions. A new video showcases how Merlo UK uses ABAX Worksite to keep track of high-value attachments that frequently move between customers, helping prevent loss and improve operational efficiency.

In the demonstration fleet, Merlo operates around 20–25 attachments worth up to £20,000 each. With machines often changing hands multiple times per month, maintaining visibility of both machines and their attachments was a significant challenge.

To address this, Merlo UK combined ABAX Worksite — designed for tracking non-powered assets such as attachments and equipment — with ABAX Fleet for monitoring company vehicles. The result is a complete machinery tracking system that gives the team real-time visibility across both powered and non-powered assets.

“So we can identify where the machine is, but in addition we can tell where every single piece of equipment and attachment is,” said Owen Buttle, National Sales Manager at Merlo UK.

ABAX Worksite trackers are fitted to attachments on arrival in the UK and integrated with Merlo’s existing telematics, making it easy for the company to see exactly where every attachment is located at all times. The system has already delivered measurable value, with Merlo reporting significant time savings and reduced administrative effort.
