MCI Developments, a subsidiary of top 10 UK housebuilder Keepmoat, has partnered with L&G Affordable Homes to deliver 158 affordable homes at Trub Farm in Castleton, Rochdale.
The flagship development, which recently received full planning permission from Rochdale Council, will include a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments alongside two, three and four-bedroom homes.
The £40m scheme will contribute towards Greater Manchester’s target of delivering 10,000 new social homes by 2032. The homes will be owned and managed by L&G Affordable Homes and made available through a combination of social rent and Shared Ownership.
Jamie Irving, Land & Partnerships Director at MCI Developments, said: “We’re proud to be partnering with L&G on this flagship scheme, which will deliver much-needed affordable homes and support the creation of a thriving new community in Rochdale.
“At MCI Developments, we pride ourselves on a robust partnership model and this collaboration and investment with L&G reflects our shared commitment to delivering high-quality homes in places where they are needed most. We look forward to progressing our plans for the scheme.”
Established in 2018 as part of the L&G Group, L&G Affordable Homes is a major UK housing developer and operator, providing Shared Ownership and Affordable Rent properties across the country.
Alongside new homes, the Trub Farm development will include a cycle and pedestrian route linking the neighbourhood with the adjacent Rochdale Canal towpath, helping to improve local connectivity and encourage active travel.
Marcus Fisher, Head of New Business at L&G Affordable Homes, said: “Trub Farm is an important scheme for Rochdale and partnerships like this, where L&G can provide long-term stability with institutionally backed investment, are key to getting projects like this done.
“We’re doing a lot of work in the Manchester region, unlocking grant funding to deliver schemes like this and partnering with local businesses.”
MCI Developments is a North West-based developer that works alongside registered partners and local authorities to deliver high-quality new homes and support the creation of sustainable communities across the region.
