Mayfair Country Homes Ltd – On the road to greater things and more awards

With 2025 proving to be another award-winning year for Mayfair Country Homes Ltd, the company continues to build on the progress it has made since its creation by founder Garry Brankin a decade ago. It is now looking to achieve even greater things in the years ahead by broadening its strategy and taking on ever larger schemes.

Mayfair was founded with a very simple vision: to design and build exceptional homes that stand the test of time. For ten years the company has specialised in high-quality residential developments in rural and semi-rural locations, combining traditional architectural detailing with modern construction standards, energy efficiency and meticulous craftsmanship.

Garry comments: “The company handles every stage of the development process in-house from site identification, planning, design, construction and final delivery. This gives us complete quality control and allows us to create homes that feel bespoke, timeless, and highly desirable. As a company, we’ve grown steadily by focusing on the fundamentals: securing the right land, delivering strong planning outcomes, and producing homes that genuinely uplift the areas we build in. Our developments are recognised for their generous proportions, character-led design and robust technical detail.”

Managing Director, Michael Brankin, continues: “Our developments blend traditional country home aesthetics with modern performance. We design houses that look like they belong, homes that complement their setting, elevate local character, and create long-lasting value for homeowners and communities. We don’t mass-produce. One development at a time our approach is bespoke and hands-on. Every scheme is curated carefully, and every property we build carries architectural integrity, craftsmanship and individuality. We want people to walk into a Mayfair Country Homes development and instantly recognise the character, warmth and attention to detail.”

In 2025, Mayfair was proud to win the LABC Development of the Year for Medium Size New Housing developments in the Central Region, for one of their flagship new-build housing schemes, a development of eight detached and semi-detached barn-style houses in Oxfordshire.

The LABC National Grand Finals will be held in January 2026 to crown the Best Overall Development across the UK, a truly exciting prospect for Mayfair. This wasn’t the company’s first LABC success, as in 2021 it also won the LABC Best Small New Housing Development award, again for the Central Region, for a large barn conversion scheme of four new houses in Bedfordshire.

On the recent LABC award win Finance Director, Caroline Brankin, adds: “Being recognised twice by the UK’s leading building control authority reinforces the consistency of our standards and the pride we take in every detail. It also shows that we deliver quality across a range of scales.”

Mayfair’s internal structure gives the agility to maintain high standards while delivering projects efficiently. They are now looking to expand this capability further, into joint-ventures with landowners either with small garden plots capable of fitting additional housing, or unconverted barns ready to be turned into new residential housing.

“Of all the homes we’ve built to date, many have been barn conversions. This extensive experience demonstrates that barn conversions are not just a natural extension of our skillset, they are a core part of our expertise.”

Mayfair also sees a growing opportunity to bring its design style into premium renovations and home transformations, as Garry outlines: “Many homeowners love the ‘Mayfair Country Homes look’ but may not want to move, so we’re opening the door to significant refurbishments, modernisations and extensions. These projects allow clients to blend traditional charm with modern living, backed by our technical expertise.

“We’re selective with our sites and partnerships because every project must be something we’re proud to put our name on. Our ethos is simple: deliver excellence, respect the setting, and create a legacy of homes that will be cherished for generations.”

Whether you’re a landowner with a potential site, a homeowner looking for a premium renovation, or someone interested in a joint-venture development, Mayfair are always open to a conversation.

Recent homebuyer Kayla Stratford commented: “I thank my lucky stars I wandered down to site that day and found you and our forever home. You’ve built the home of our dreams and we could not be happier here.”

The company’s long-term aim is to be recognised as one of the most respected high-quality residential developers in the region, known not just for building homes, but for enhancing communities. “We want our name to be associated with craftsmanship, architectural quality, integrity and added value.”

This level of ambition has become the bedrock on which Mayfair has been built, as has the unrelenting focus on quality and client satisfaction that has seen it win two regional LABC Awards. With it having every chance of securing an LABC National Award in 2026, the company is certainly one to look out for in the year ahead and beyond.
