Keepmoat secures planning to deliver additional 409 homes at Northstowe in Cambridgeshire

A major housing development that will deliver 409 additional homes has moved a step closer following planning approval from South Cambridgeshire District Council. Top 10 UK housebuilder Keepmoat is continuing its investment in the new town of Northstowe, increasing housing provision in the area and offering a range of affordable housing options in partnership with Homes England, the government’s housing and regeneration agency and master developer for phases two and three of Northstowe.

Known as Stirling Fields, the next phase of development builds on Keepmoat’s earlier work at Northstowe and will deliver 409 homes, with a further 591 homes expected to follow, subject to planning approval.

The development will provide a mix of two, three and four-bedroom houses, alongside one and two-bedroom apartments. It will also include affordable homes, with Northstowe Discount Market Sale (DMS) properties available at 20 per cent below open market value.

Victor Idowu, Regional Managing Director at Keepmoat South Mids, said: “Keepmoat is proud to be involved at a strategic level with Homes England as part of the wider Northstowe development. This latest phase builds on our earlier work and marks the second stage of delivery on site, with a further 591 homes expected to follow in due course as part of the wider vision for the area.

“At Keepmoat, we are committed to creating sustainable, multi-tenure communities that prioritise well-designed neighbourhoods with high-quality homes, green spaces and strong connections to existing communities.”

Northstowe is Cambridgeshire’s newest town and has been designed around green space, walkability and wellbeing, while benefiting from close links to Cambridge city centre.

Matthew Brown, head of large sites at Homes England, said: “This latest planning approval for Keepmoat at Northstowe demonstrates the continued momentum behind this significant development. The scheme will help accelerate the delivery of much-needed homes in Cambridgeshire, including affordable housing options that will support local people in taking their first step onto the property ladder.

“We are pleased to be working with Keepmoat to deliver our shared vision for Northstowe as a place that combines quality housing with community, green space and connectivity. This phase includes a mix of homes alongside open space and allotments, bringing us closer to realising the town’s full potential. We look forward to seeing the next phase of homes progress through planning in due course.”
