As an independent company with over 60 years of operation under its belt, Fairfield Builders Supplies has continually moved with the times and consistently improved its offering for its customers by evolving its service. This was further underlined recently when the Derbyshire-based company became a member of the National Buying Group (NBG) in order to achieve even better prices for its client base.
“We became a member of NBG on the 1st of June this year after a recommendation from one of our suppliers,” explains Nathan Stone, General Manager. “At a time when prices have steadily increased in recent years, it’s vital that we do all we can to remain competitive and provide our customers with the best possible value.
“Joining the NBG was a very straightforward process and while it’s still very early days, we’ve already seen a number of benefits coming through. Prices within the marketplace generally have been fluctuating quite significantly recently, so the support that the NBG has been able to provide, as well as the buying power they can offer, have already been highly rewarding. They’ve definitely given us more stability and we’ve had doors opened to suppliers that we’ve never worked with before.”
Established in 1963, a workforce of over 20 employees enables Fairfield Builders Supplies to serve the East-Midlands and the North-West from its site in Buxton. The family-owned merchant excels particularly in building and landscaping, plumbing and heating, and bathrooms and showers.
With six decades of business behind it, one of the key aspects of Fairfield Builders Supplies’ longevity has been its dedication to customer service. “As a family-run business we have strong traditional values and customer service is at the heart of everything we do,” adds Mr Stone. “This has allowed us to build a loyal client base that has helped generate a continuous stream of repeat business over the years.”
