Lucion expands asbestos safety services with new operation for Ireland

Leading asbestos safety and risk management group Lucion Services is expanding its network of regional offices by setting up a new operation covering Ireland.

The company is opening a new office in Omagh from where it will provide specialist asbestos safety services, analysis and consultancy support throughout Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic.

Lucion will specialise in carrying out surveys for asbestos containing materials and undertaking specialist air monitoring and analysis services. This include access to specialist UKAS accredited laboratory facilities for detailed asbestos sampling and testing services, which includes scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for fibre determination and detailed monitoring reports.

Working alongside the company’s specialist surveyors, Lucion’s dedicated risk management advisors also provide strategic asbestos management consultancy, handling the process of compliance and ongoing management of asbestos including management plans and policy reviews.

All client services undertaken by the new operation in Ireland will be delivered through Lucion’s specialist NexGen risk management and reporting portal. The cloud-based system enables clients to manage all of their core site safety activities by providing a complete online record of all asbestos safety information, linking to site surveys, historical data and condition reports.

NexGen is particularly useful for managing asbestos and risk management issues for multi-property portfolios and is automatically updated with new survey and building work details as they are carried out.

Lucion’s new office in Ireland will be headed by experienced asbestos industry professional Shane McGill. He said: “As demand for trusted, quality providers of asbestos management services has grown, Lucion has expanded its range of specialist services and operational network to earn a market leading reputation.

“I am delighted and excited to be heading the expansion of the company into Ireland and look forward to introducing new skills and technologies that will help companies to manage their asbestos safety responsibilities more efficiently and effectively.”

Continuous growth since its formation in 2002 has enabled the Lucion group to build a 295-strong workforce. In addition to the new office in Northern Ireland, the company operates from a network of 11 regional offices throughout the UK and provides a range of occupational safety, risk management, consultancy and training services in the field of asbestos and hazardous materials safety.
