Complicated and time-consuming scaffold structures are now part of the past after the introduction of the new PAXTower with folding base by ZARGES UK, the leading access equipment specialist. Equipped with a raft of timesaving and safety-enhancing new features, it is fully compliant with the latest safety regulations.
The ergonomic and sturdy design, in accordance with the latest EN1004 specification, ensures safe working at height at all times. The new ZARGES PAXTower range will be available from October 2020.
Assembly of the base pack is astonishingly simple; to get started users simply fold out the structure until it clicks into place. When building the tower to higher levels, a specially designed slot-in spigot with interlock clips prevents tilting when connecting the end frames, enabling a smooth build. Once constructed, components stay securely and firmly in place and can be released using simple mechanisms. Its sturdy, flexible construction and quick assembly make the PAXTower the perfect product for frequent and trade users.
Joost Knapen, Head of Product EMEA at WernerCo, said: “At the outset of designing the new PAXTower, we wanted to fulfil our commitment to continually making our products safer and easier to use. At the same time, we wanted to make sure our latest products adhered to the latest British and European standards.
“We believe we’ve met and exceeded our goals; not only is the PAXTower fully compliant with existing standards, we’ve included a litany of new and useful features with the of aim increasing safety, all while letting users spend more time doing their job and less time setting up equipment. And we’ve achieved this all in a package that represents exceptional value for money.”
The PAXTower will be available in two build methods: Through the Trapdoor (3T) and Advanced Guardrail (AGR), with the option to build up to a platform height of 5.6m to 7.65m. Its 1.80 by 0.72m platform can withstand loads of up to 208 kilograms.
The AGR PAXTowers contain fewer components to allow for a quick and safe build, while the specially designed guardrail features foldable arms to make the component compact for easy storage and transportation.
The 3T braced version provides 360° protection at all times and ensures complete stability. Colour coded claws on the tower’s braces make identifying the correct brace simple, helping to ensure a safe and correct build.
Three new features enhance the folding frame’s ease of use and speed, as Joost explains: “Smooth running slip-on guides made of hard plastic, known as spigots, make connecting push-on frames a cinch. Through a clever mechanism, the toe board moves into the right position almost by itself. And set-up is just as easy; simply fold it out – the frame gives a satisfying click when secured into place.”
The PAXTower comes with stabilisers as standard as well as stabiliser extensions in the 5.6m version, alleviating the need for a second set of larger stabilisers and maximising ease of use, without sacrificing safety.
