Family-run Devon based Palladium Building Supplies is one step nearer its original goal of operating several successful outlets in the South-West of England after recently opening another new depot in Ivybridge.
General manager Steve Lee said the new depot is going from strength to strength and has just enjoyed a successful first few months of trading. Being in the heart of the South Hams means that the business now has an even stronger foothold in the South West with other well established branches in Plymouth and Kingsbridge.
This is great news for the long established business, which is preparing to celebrate its 30th anniversary this year.
Mr Lee said: “Although our existing depots did partially cover the Ivybridge area, now we have the new depot, this means we can provide an improved service for our customers as we are now right on doorstep for them. The business has steadily grown since we opened our first branch in 1986 and this has been the right time to open in Ivybridge. We have staff experienced in the industry for the new branch so we’ve really hit the ground running.
“Because of the industry we are in, we do serve a diverse range of customers from general builders to carpenters, roofers and DIY enthusiasts, along with factory outlets and maintenance departments. Because we don’t just deal with one particular trade, this is what has helped us grow as a business and operate successfully on many levels, whether this be offering advice on products and building solutions or securing the best prices for our customers. At the moment there is a lot of house building going on in this region so we can supply equipment and construction solutions for customers working on those sites.”
Over the years Palladium Building Supplies has built up very strong relationships with suppliers, which allows the company to offer the best prices, products and construction advice. Palladium Building Supplies is a member of the National Buying Group which on behalf of its members secures the best prices from supplies, which allows Palladium Building Supplies to remain competitive. Palladium Building Supplies continually updates its stock profile, which allows them to respond to the latest legislations and building quality control.
“We are very much customer focused and we do our best to help and offer advice, even though we may not get the business we treat all our customers and enquiries in the same manner – we do what we can and nothing is too much trouble.
“Our staff are very customer focused and understand our philosophy as a business. Our staff our trained and experienced in our industry, we offer a crane offload service by trained and accredited vehicle operators and strive to offer a service that is above and beyond the expectations of our customers and hope that this philosophy will ensure repeat business and customer loyalty. We endeavour to help our customers in whatever way we can.”
Despite its success, Palladium Building Supplies still operates by the traditional family values of excellent customer service and competitive prices – a fact the business is still very proud of as it enters its 30th year.
