O’Donovan Waste Disposal, London’s leading construction and demolition waste management company, has scooped the renowned Health, Safety and Environmental Skills Development title at the 16th annual Environment and Energy Awards. The category was hotly contested with stiff competition for the accolade from Barhale Trant Utilities, Haste, J Murphy & Sons and O-I.
The award, which recognises excellence in staff development to meet industry environmental, health and safety requirements, adds to O’Donovan’s growing number of plaudits, including a National Motor Transport Award for Training and the Institute of Directors South East and London Award for Family Director of the Year.
Jacqueline O’Donovan, Managing Director of the independent, family-run company, said: “This win is testament to our commitment to staff training, the development of health and safety and our drive to improve environmental performance in all our operations.
“We invest significant time and resources to ensure that our drivers and team have the knowledge they need to undertake their job above and beyond the standards that are expected by the industry. We refuse to compromise on this and are proud to be the benchmark for health, safety and environmental practice in our industry.”
The prestigious Environment and Energy Awards, which are well established in the sustainability industry calendar, celebrate advancements in green technologies, excellence in energy and water management and outstanding sustainability performances. This year’s panel of judges included industry experts from Global Action Plan, Forum for the Future and WRAP.
